End of Life Classes

During this time of social distancing, I am offering zoom sessions on end-of-life care for nursing schools, medical schools, gerontology programs, pre-health programs, and for caregivers.

Topics can include:

  • the practicalities of hospice patient care

  • how to be with a patient

  • what to expect when a patient is dying

  • energy changes and conservation

  • appetite and swallowing changes

  • common symptom management at end-of-life (pain, constipation, anxiety, delirium, shortness of breath)

  • how to care for someone who is dying

  • the time of death

  • after the death
